Software Upgrades

From time to time, new software features for your radio may be developed. Your radio has been designed to allow its internal software to be updated.

Some radios enable software upgrades via an SD Card or USB Cable. Other radios enable software upgrades via an Internet Connection.

You should not attempt to update your radio unless it is recommended to you by Sangean Customer Service. Updating software may remove all network settings, radio station presets and alarm settings from your radio.

Updating Software using SD card or USB Cable

The information below lists the radios that enable internal software upgrades via an SD Card or USB Cable. The current software versions for each model are also listed.

Before attempting a software upgrade, please check the current software version on your radio by referring to the ‘Software Version Display’ section in your user manual. If your radio does not display the version listed below, you can proceed to update the software on your radio by extracting the files below and referring to instructions provided.

There are 2 different software versions available for the DPR-17+. Please ensure you update your radio with the correct software version.

Updating Software using Internet Connection

It is important that you do not attempt this procedure unless you have a good Internet connection and a reliable mains power supply. If the radio connects to your router using a Wi-Fi connection, make sure that this is also reliable before proceeding
 
The information below lists the radios which can allow the internal software to be upgraded using internet connection. The current software versions for each model are also listed.

Before attempting the upgrade on your radio, please check the current software version on your radio by referring to the ‘Software Version Display’ section in your user manual. If your radio does not display the version listed below, you can proceed to update the software on your radio, by referring to the ‘Software Update’ section in your user manual and following the instructions provided.
